Christos TatsiopoulosResearcher

Dr. Christos Tatsiopoulos was born in 1963.  He was awarded a BSc and a Minor Degree in Mathematics (1989) as well as a MSc. in Computer Science with focus in Artificial Intelligence (1990), from the University of Bridgeport, Ct., USA.  He received his Doctoral Degree (Ph.d) in 2009 from the University of Patras, Greece, from the Dept. of Business Administration, AI Lab., in the area of Knowledge Management with Application in Mobile Devices, using Ontologies, data mining, knowledge extraction as well knowledge prediction/association techniques.

He has participated in more than 20 research projects funded by both EU and Greece, among of which in the frameworks of ACTS, ESPRIT, eContent, ICT, IST, H2020.  He has worked as a consultant to the Government of Serbia for the establishment (processes and technologies) of a state ecommerce platform for the SMEs.  He has been also collaborated as a consultant with companies inside and outside Greece in a variety of IST areas.  He also participated as a Scientific Responsible for the project SMARTEGE, funded by GSRT, in the area of Gamification and Smart Energy profiles that was selected as a best practice project, presented by GSRT.  He was leading a team of experts for the design and implementation of the information system for support and management of all educational processes within National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government.  Currently he is project manager in the Research Infrastructure INVALOR, in 7 Greek Universities and Research Centers, on the Cycled Economy area, led by Dept. of Chemical Engineering, at the university of Patras and teaches the subject of Internet of Things (IoT) in the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.
