Gerasimos Lyberatos is professor in the School of chemical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, collaborative faculty member of FORTH/ICE-HT and the head of the LEB. Professor Lyberatos obtained his B.S. at M.I.T. and his M.Sc. and Ph.D at CALTECH (USA) and served as Assistant, and Associate Professor at the University of Florida. In 1990 he joined the University of Patras as an Associate Professor and in 1993 became a full Professor. From July 2011, he is a professor in the School of Chemical Engineering of National Technical University of Athens. His research interests are in biochemical engineering, environmental technologies, bioprocess modeling, optimization and control. Prof. Lyberatos is Editor of the “Journal of Hazardous Materials” (ELSEVIER) and Associate Editor for “Waste and Biomass Valorization” (SPRINGER) and “GNEST Journal”. He is founder and current president of the Hellenic Water Association and City Counselor, Municipality of Halandri (special mandate on waste recycling).
He was the coordinator or principal investigator of approximately 55 research programs. He has over 185 publications in International refereed Journals, over 300 publications in Conference Proceedings, 12 book chapters, and 4 books. H index (SCOPUS): 42, Citations (SCOPUS): 5999.
