She is a biologist and received her Ph.D from the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Patras, in 2006. Her research expertise is in applied microbiology processes for wastewater treatment and valorization via mixed and pure microbial cultures, risk assessment via biomarkers/bioindicators and modeling of biochemical processes. She is a co-author of 25 publications in International refereed Journals (H index 12, citations: ~580), 47 publications in Conference Proceedings and 4 book chapters. She has participated in 21 National and International Research projects.
