Dr. Ioannis Panagiotoulias is a Chemist (B.Sc.), holding Master Diploma (M.Sc.) and Ph.D. in Chemistry & Environmental Technology and Environmental Management respectively (Department of Chemistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). In addition he received Master Diploma (M.Sc.) in Quality Management and Technology (Hellenic Open University). He works in a large iron and steel industry in the Quality Control Department. In the department there are two laboratories: a) Mechanical Testing and Metallography such as tensile, bend, hardness tests and study of the structure – components are carried out, mainly at metallic materials and b) Chemical analysis on samples of various alloys, raw materials, products, by-products, air and water emissions. At the same time he is a researcher at the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry (Department of Chemistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and ISO Management Systemς Lead Auditor at MIRTEC S.A. His research interests focus on process optimization and data analysis, best available technologies, quality and environmental management, health & safety, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, cyclical economy & industrial symbiosis and marine pollution. He has involved in many workshops, forums, international conferences, National and EU (ARISTEIA – ISMET-COMAREN, H2020 – Capacity Building Mediterranean Environment Programme) projects and he has a publication record that includes papers in referred journals and conference papers.
