Dr. Katerina Stamatelatou is an assistant professor in the Democritus University of Thrace (Department of Environmental Engineering). She is a chemical engineer and obtained her diploma and Ph.D. in the Department of Chemical Engineering of University of Patras. Her field of research includes the study and development of anaerobic digestion processes, valorization of biomass and wastes, design and operation of bioreactors and bioprocess modeling. She is the coauthor of 42 research papers in peer reviewed journals (1811 citations excluding self-citations of all authors, h-index 22), 14 chapter books and over 50 publications in proceedings of international and national conferences. She is an editor in Water Science and Technology, reviewer in more than 8 journals, member of scientific and/or organizing committees in 8 international conferences (chairing 2 of them).
